Q: What is the policy on upgrades to Plan?

A: If you have already registered Plan for Windows then you can upgrade to newer versions of Plan for Windows for free. Simply download and install the new version over any existing version.

Q: Will Plan work on my PC?

A: Plan will work on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP.

Q: What is the difference between Plan for Windows, Pocket Plan, Plan for Nokia 9XXX, Plan6, Plan5 and Plan?

A: Plan for Windows, Pocket Plan and Plan for Nokia 9XXX use the same code base and are therefore very similar in terms of functionality. Plan6 (which has now been replaced by Plan for Nokia 9XXX) used the same calculation engine and a similar data model, although some fields are not supported in Plan6. Plan5 and Plan were written in a different programming language (OPL) and therefore are very different from the other versions.

Q: How much does Plan cost?

A: Around US$40 or £20. Upgrades to newer versions of Plan for Windows will be free once registered. Purchase via the Internet using this link.

Q: I have already registered Plan, Plan5 or Plan6 or Pocket Plan, is there a discount for purchasing a licence for Plan for Windows?

A: Yes, existing/previous registered users of another Twiddlebit Plan product can register for a reduced fee. See here.

Q: Is Plan for Windows compatible with Microsoft Project?

A: Yes, Plan can read MPP, MPD and MPX files from Microsoft Project. It can also update a Microsoft Project file and write it back as an MPD or MPX file that can be used by Microsoft Project.

Q: Why do I get a message asking me to check for an upgrade when opening a file?

A: Make sure you are using the latest version of Plan. The file format has probably changed. The latest version of Plan can read all previous versions, but old versions may not be able to read files created by a newer version.
